Read Webcomics!

There's a lot of fun, awesomeness, and aw-someness (will explain later) waiting for you in the Happyhappyland that is the Webcomic!

Webcomics are different from print comics in one major aspect - at least that what it seems to me - it can afford to take itself not so seriously.

As such, the more hwa-hwa-hwa-kabish-konk! (sounds of battle for you non-oriental people out there) fighting comics tend to be on print, and the.. the.. obviously you can't quite narrow down exactly what webcomics cover, simply because of the variety. Webcomic artists are usually people who write these strips during their free time, and the investment is typically insignificant, and thus, they are less afraid to try new things. Naturally, this means that while there are some really lousy webcomics out there, there certainly are very imaginative and really really excellent ones too.

Now, refer to my previous post. Laugh.

That's www.xkcd.com, one of the finest in this field. It is funny, presents a rather different point of view, and induces the occasional "awwwww" when you come across some really sweet ones (that's the factor called "aw-someness", by the way). In fact, it is so popular that fans have started to realize scenes from the strip in real life.

Yes that's funny. Laugh again if you want to.

The Art of Webcomic Reading
Webcomic reading is a skill on its own. It takes experience and keen self-awareness to discern whether or not you should follow a particular series. A good general knowledge might be needed to understand some of the references. All in all, you must be prepared to laugh and say "awwww" at appropriate times. You may need a buddy so that you can act out some scenes together (and collapse in laughter while everyone else around look on blankly). Like Quantum Ass Mode - from The Noob Comic (www.thenoobcomic.com) - I remember galloping up and down the corridor with a friend of mine, ours hands upon our derrieres, randomly shouting "Quantum Ass Mode!". My teacher was not amused.
