Make Games!

Perhaps "making games" doesn't sound much like something you could do just to casually pass the time. But it can be, and we'll show you how!

The featured Game Creation program here is
Game Maker, a nifty and extremely versatile software that suffers primarily from a lousy name. It is a good tool for beginners, because it allows some degree of complexity, while also having a simplified interface for those who choose so.

Here are two examples of games created with Game Maker. As you can see, they are completely different whether in terms of style or mechanics. This should surely be a convincing proof of its abilities:

Yep, whether you want to make an MMO, an RTS, a FPS, or a text based adventure, Game Maker can be a valuable part of your arsenal. With it, you can roll out a simple game in 10 minutes to play with your friend, or a commercially successful, PCGamer-featured product. Some even make it to the TV screen! (Yes, DREAM!)

Point here is, whether or not you're a beginner or a fairly advanced script writer, Game Maker will have something for you. It comes coupled with well annotated tutorials - more of which you can download - and a very comprehensive "help" section, and the Game Maker Community is really thriving: think magazines, podcasts, and there's even a video show.

Put your ideas to scripts today! Download Game Maker.
